Our mission is to foster friendship, cross-cultural understanding and mutual respect between the people of Greater Newburyport, Massachusetts and the people of Bura, Kenya.

​We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization composed of supporters and volunteers. An active group meets monthly in the greater Newburyport area.  Meetings include potluck suppers and are ordinarily scheduled for the first Sunday of each month.

We welcome your support wherever you may be and invite you to our meetings if you are in the Newburyport area.

Through ongoing projects and events, the Alliance has a positive impact through many avenues of exchange and support. Mainly, GNBA aims to:

 

1. Improve access to quality healthcare
    

2. Ensure all children have education opportunities
    

3. Strengthen cultural exchange between Bura and Newburyport through agroforestry, organic farming techniques, and more
